Day 18 Video Summary
We looked at Shopify right at the beginning of the process and decided against using it because it didn’t natively support subscription products. Well, there were so many other advantages that we had to reevaluate it as our e-commerce solution. We found that there is a Shopify app called ReCharge that allows you to sell products as subscriptions.
We also wanted to offer bulk discounts so we could reward our customers that bought multiple products. We also found an app called Quantity Breaks that solved this problem for us.
I’m used to using WordPress and there are some plugins that don’t play nice, but for the most part they work pretty well. I didn’t find that to be true with the Shopify apps. They don’t always place nice and stacking multiple apps into a store can be very problematic.
Our First Online Sale
After setting up our Shopify store we had our first online sale for $42.38!!!
Some other notes
We took another crack at product photos and created many of them using Gimp, as mentioned in previous days. The style that we stuck with this far looks like this:
That’s all for today, we’ll see you tomorrow!
